Audimated.com Awarded $25,000 to Elevate Indie, Collegiate, and Unsigned Musicians
Miami, Florida November 8th, 2010: University of Miami and “Launch Pad” entrepreneurs Lucas Sommer and Andrew Levine launch a revolutionary social media site for indie, collegiate, and unsigned musicians called Audimated.com.
Audimated helps artists and fans share, discover and monetize music. For the first time, a music community gives Fans the ability to make money sharing their favorite independent content, and Artists the tools they need to make money in a music career. Audimated bands and indie artists keep their copyrights and allow fans to be the sales force for their music, merchandise and products.
Founder Lucas Sommer adds, “The internet has taken the control of marketing and distribution out of the record labels hands and leveled the playing field for all musicians. Audimated uses this paradigm shift to forever change the independent music industry by turning music fans into the sales force for the content. Audimated’s unique e-commerce platform will be the new standard for how independent music does business.”
About the founder:
Through Lucas Sommer’s work as the founder of three successful music ventures and ten years working with independent artists he realized the need to help artists monetize their music careers. Lucas, along with fellow UM alumnus Andrew Levine, developed Audimated.com to help artists make more money with their music, and give fans a financial incentive to promote the artists they support. In only its development stage, Audimated won the $25,000 first prize WeMedia Pitch it Challenge for best new start up. Only in its fourth month of marketing and promotion Audimated has quickly amassed thousands of artists and their fans across multiple genres, countries, and age groups.
